Flex Stack Pack Expansion: New Backpack and Tool Bag - Pro Tool Reviews
Over the last few years, we’ve seen some pretty cool advances in the world of tool storage, especially from Flex! Their original lineup of Stack Pack tool boxes and accessories made quite a splash, and to date, it’s one of the more extensive systems on the market. Now, they’re introducing two new tool bags that aim to improve efficiency when moving between smaller jobs.
The Flex Stack Pack 16-inch Jobsite Backpack offers Pros a convenient, portable storage solution that can hold up to the rigors of construction sites. It features internal and external pockets and pouches that can accommodate a variety of hand tools, bits, and accessories.
The padded shoulder straps and back padding add a tremendous amount of comfort, especially since this backpack has a max capacity of 40 pounds. My only gripe is that the plastic Stack Pack mounting bracket on the bottom did put a little pressure on my lower back, making it a bit uncomfortable after wearing it for longer durations.
Regardless, this is a great option when you only need to take a few tools onto a jobsite, a larger tool box is inconvenient, or you’re going to be climbing.

The Flex Stack Pack 22-Inch Tool Bag provides the missing link for the Stack Pack lineup. While it is similar to their open-top tote, it provides the added protection of a zippered top, so your tools remain secure on busy jobsites. Plus, there are multiple padded pouches to store sensitive electronics and valuables.
In terms of convenience, Flex added two sets of handles for easy loading into a van or truck, and the padded shoulder strap increases the comfort level while carrying a heavy load. The robust fabric and stitching increase this bag’s overall durability and reduces the risk of tearing and abrasion. As with the backpack, this tool bag is compatible with other Stack Pack boxes, making it easy to transport and store between jobs.
