LISBON — A preliminary hearing was set for a Lisbon man, charged with striking his neighbor with a sword. The preliminary hearing was set June 12 for Jay Bauer, 36, North Market Street, Lisbon, who is charged with second-degree felonious assault and second-degree felony burglary. Bauer allegedly trespassed at a residence in the apartment building in which he lives at North Market Street in Lisbon on June 4, and struck the victim with a sword, leaving a cut and welt on the victim. Bauer is being held on a $75,000 cash or surety bond.

Sihe McCurdy, 41, Sharon, Pa. was bound over to the county grand jury, charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence, driving under suspension engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. McCurdy allegedly arranged to exchange crack cocaine or sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveled to East Palestine to do so on March 20. McCurdy allegedly threw the crack cocaine out of the window as police approached.

Dustin Andrews, 25, state Route 170, East Palestine, was bound over to the county grand jury, charged with fifth-degree felony of drugs. Andrews allegedly possessed .10 grams of cocaine during an arrest in Unity Township on an outstanding warrant on March 7.

A preliminary hearing was set for June 15 for Jeramey Heath,29, Orchard Grove Avenue, charged with fifth-degree felony theft. Heath allegedly as an employee at the Calcutta Walmart was recorded by security cameras buying and then returning items he fraudulently took from the store during a period before June 3. The merchandise totaled $1,104.

A preliminary hearing was set for June 12 for Fred Struble, 24, Chain School Road, East Palestine, charged with fourth-degree felony failure to comply with a police officer, fourth-degree felony theft and fifth-degree felony obstructing official business. Struble allegedly led Columbiana officers on a chase on a stolen motorcycle that started at the Sunoco station and continued on to state Route 14, during which Struble almost caused a collision and traveled at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour on June 1. Struble reportedly ditched the motorcycle and fled on foot.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Aug. 22 for Blaine Vadino, 22, Longs Crossing Road, charged with fifth-degree felony improper handling of firearms, OVI, speed and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia. Vadino allegedly had in his possession a loaded handgun during a traffic stop on state Route 45 where he was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated on June 23 in Salem Township. Officer reportedly also found two marijuana smoking pipes in his vehicle.

A pretrial hearing was set Aug. 28 for Frederick Morgan, 57, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Morgan allegedly agreed to exchange $80 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and then traveled to Salem to do so on May 14.

A pretrial hearing was set June 12 for Davante Jackson, 30, Cleveland, charged with criminal trespass. Jackson allegedly operated a motor scooter on the property of the Columbiana County Metropolitan Housing Authority on May 28.

A pretrial hearing was set Aug. 29 for David Delagrange, 53, Norton, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Delagrange allegedly agreed to exchange $160 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and then traveled to Salem to do so on May 16.

A pretrial hearing was set Aug. 29 for Brice Snyder, Stow, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Snyder allegedly arranged to exchange $200 methamphetamine and marijuana for sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveled to East Palestine to do so on June 3.

Shannon Baker, 48, Parkview Drive, Columbiana, was fined $1,375 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 157 suspended and credit for three as well as 20 hours of community service for two counts of endangering children, OVI and right of way. Charges of open container and child restraint were dismissed. Baker allegedly attempted to flee the scene of an accident on state Route 7. Baker was reportedly intoxicated and had her two young children in the vehicle during the crash on March 2.

A pretrial hearing was set June 12 for Kurt Smith, 50, Cleveland Street, Salem, charged with domestic violence. Smith allegedly pinned a juvenile girl to the floor at his residence in Salem on June 4. The juvenile had a visible scratch and dried blood on her neck.

A pretrial hearing was set Aug. 31 for Zashenka Carrasquillo, no age given, Cleveland, charged with assault. Carrasquillo allegedly was involved in a physical fight with her juvenile foster sister.

A pretrial hearing was set for Ryan Jones, 26, Columbia Street, Leetonia, charged with OVI and marked lanes.

Jessica Morris, 45, Market St. East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 29 suspended and credit for one day as well as 40 hours of community service for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence. Morris was arrested during a domestic disturbance at her home where a man was physically assaulted on March 2. Morris was also ordered to have no contact with the man.

A pretrial hearing was set Aug. 22 for Matthew Runkles, 40. E. Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with OVI and speed.

Eugene Deffenbaugher, 25, Massillon, was fined $150 for possession of marijuana.

Kaden Davis, 23, Carbon Hill Road, East Palestine, was fined $150 for no operator's license amended from driving under suspension.

Mallory Stowers, 30, West Sixth Street, East Liverpool, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and expired registration tag.
